This website describes Parent Action on Drugs,formerly Parents Against Drugs. PAD's mandate is to help parents and others make informed choices about substance abuse issues that affect adolescents. The website offers up-to-date information to increase knowledge about smoking, drinking and the use of marijuana and other drugs. PAD programs and resources are for use by students, parents, teachers, health practitioners and community groups. Resources include videos on binge drinking and teenage parties, as well as peer education programs. PAD addresses the prevention of alcohol and other drug abuse by promoting the development of healthy relationships within the family, encouraging parent-youth communication and fostering healthy self-esteem among children. |
